IB Learner Profile

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) learner profile identifies that as humans we have a range of aptitudes, capabilities and responsibilities that assist us to be effective and collaborative members of a community.

The Primary Years Programme is committed to the development of students according to the IB learner profile.

International Baccalaureate- Primary Years Framework

The PYP provides schools with a curriculum framework of essential elements — the knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action that young students need to equip them for successful lives, both now and in the future.

Schools work with the five elements to construct a rigorous and challenging primary curriculum for international education.

The PYP aims to create a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant for learners. The curriculum is transdisciplinary, meaning that it focuses on issues that go across subject areas.

The PYP is organised according to:

The Programme focuses on developing the whole child; the spiritual, academic, emotional, social, physical and cultural needs of each child.
