What's Happening in Week 2

Dear Families and Carers,

Tomorrow we will be celebrating the special role grandparents play in the lives of our children. Grandparents bring wisdom, stories, stability and a deep sense of belonging that helps shape who our children become. I often reflect on the significant role my own parents played in the lives of my boys, from after-school pickups, footy training and weekend sleep overs to quiet moments of listening and guiding. Their relationship has flourished well into adulthood, built on shared experiences, unconditional love and trust. Grandparents enrich family life in unique and lasting ways, and we are so grateful for the important part they play in our school community. We look forward to Year 1 leading our Liturgy tomorrow in the Hall at 9.15am followed by morning tea for our fabulous guests.

ACT Children’s Week 2025,  Celebrating the Right to Play
Last Friday evening we were proud to host the Inaugural Holy Trinity Tennis Challenge as part of ACT Children’s Week 2025. This event was a wonderful celebration of the right of every child to play, connect and belong. It was heartening to see so many families, students and staff coming together on our courts to cheer, laugh and join in the fun. Play is such an important part of childhood, it builds confidence, friendships, resilience and joy. A special thank you to our families and staff who supported the afternoon, making it a meaningful celebration of children and community at Holy Trinity.

Children's Week Awards
We are incredibly proud of Felicity in Year 5, who has been recognised with the ACT Children’s Week Award for Exceptional Young Children and the 2025 Children’s Commissioner’s Award. Felicity was nominated for her courage and compassion in cutting her hair for Wigs for Kids, donating it to support a child in need. Alongside this, she raised funds to support cancer research, a beautiful example of kindness and service in action. Felicity’s generosity and empathy truly reflect the values of Holy Trinity. Congratulations, Felicity!

2026 Classes
As we begin planning our classes for 2026, our focus is on creating balanced and supportive learning environments where every child can flourish. We know our families place great trust in us as professionals to carefully consider the best placement for each student. While we do endeavour to place children with their friends, there are many factors we take into account when forming classes, including learning needs, social dynamics, and group balance. Our priority is always to create the best possible environment for your child’s learning and wellbeing. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate specific friendship or teacher requests. If there is important information you feel we should be aware of to support your child’s placement, please email me directly.
