Welcome Message from the Principal
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Term 3! I hope that you were all able to take some time during the break, regardless of the travel restrictions and health concerns, to enjoy with your beautiful families. A huge congratulations to the Karagiannidis family who have recently extended their family with baby Joseph ( brother to Nicholas in the Rock Wallabies) and to the Malfone family (Liana, Ground Parrots and Christian, Kinder) who now have baby Joshua! Such wonderful news! We also welcome to our school community Robert N in 3 /4 W , Namrita in 2 W and their families.
I have begun the newsletter today with a prayer focused on the the gift of LOVE, as this will be our Term 3 focus as we continue to unpack our 2021 school theme and school motto. On Monday, when meeting with staff for professional learning, our prayer focused on the qualities of love and the challenges associated with Christ's invitation to love all.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding about some new procedures and restrictions in place at our school due to the COVID situation in Sydney and regional NSW as follows:
- The ACT Government has now imposed tighter restrictions for ACT residents returning from COVID-19 affected areas. These new restrictions mean that anyone who has entered the ACT after 11.59 pm on Friday 9 July 2021 from Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour is required to quarantine for 14 days.
- Quarantine is a more stringent requirement than the ‘stay at home’ order that is in place for people already in the ACT from these areas. Being quarantined at home means these persons need to stay at home. They cannot go to work, school or public areas such as shops, cafes, or restaurants. ‘Stay at home’ arrangements remain unchanged for those who arrived before 11.59 pm on Friday 9 July 20201.
We continue to use both the Check in CBR App (now mandated) and Compass when signing students in or out of the school. All staff and any visitors entering the school must also use the Check in CBR App. Please note on wet weather days when carers are picking up students from classrooms early or in the hall, please use the mandated Check in CBR App- these are now around the hall and outside every classroom.
Congratulations also to the following students who received awards at the end of last term. It is wonderful to acknowledge and celebrate both academic progress excellence and the students emulating our Christian values, acknowledged in our school motto.

At the end of last term we also shared two successful P and F events- the tasting night for our parent community and a very popular Hot Dog Day for our students! It was fabulous to see so many of our parents coming together again in our school hall and sharing some lovely food, wine, music and conversation together. A HUGE thank you to Jenny and and Michael Van de Meeberg, Michelle and Paul Cains and Rowena Gribble who spent much time organising this great occasion. I would also like to acknowledge and thank Pete and Marnie Murrell, Rob and Emma Lowe, Yanna Dascarolis, Agatha and Claude Villano, and Tamara and Craig Wagstaff (super MC!!).

Thank you to Patricia Papallo, Jenny Van de Meeberg and many parents who coordinated and hlepd with the hot dog lunch at the end of last term. Thank you also to our class coordinators and parents who have volunteered for our tuck shop for the remainder of the year. Class coordinators will also be circulating the key events/dates for the term to each family; please remember also to regularly check the school calendar on our website for sacramental celebrations, special events and class assemblies, as it is necessary sometimes to make changes.
I know many people had some challenges in the term 2 break- please keep in your prayers Louise Willis (Gwen in 5 /6) and her family as her mother passed away recently. Also Catherine Cusack and her family, at the passing of her Father-in-law, John Cusack. The Cusack's have had a long history at both Holy Trinity school and Parish over the last 50 years. Many families particularly those associated with Year 2, know also that Meg Millband has taken some leave this term. Sadly her father passed away during the holidays also.
Have a wonderful weekend and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families. Stay warm!

A message from GSP
Hi to our Holy Trinity Friends!
The money fundraised and provided to Evaland Hekima has gone towards these essential first aid supplies to assist them with the required COVID precautions and with everyday incidents in schools. Without your support none of this would be possible, so THANK YOU!

We are delighted to inform you that Holy Trinity will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS Assessments again this year. ICAS is developed by UNSW Global, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of New South Wales, with 40 years’ experience in educational assessments.
ICAS is designed to target students’ higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling and Digital Technologies.
Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition. Every student will receive a certificate and an online result report. Top performers will be eligible for medals and are invited to attend special award ceremonies to have their academic excellence publicly recognised.
The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. Your child will be presented with high-quality, expert-developed questions, allowing them to apply their learning without the need for prior study or revision.
ICAS Assessments are now online, a move that reflects a sector-wide transition to computer-based assessment. This allows greater accessibility for students and faster delivery of results.
