Dear Friends,
This weekend our Church celebrates the Pentecost Sunday, a sigificant focus, especially for our Year 6 Confirmation candidates. We look forward to presenting these students and their families to our Parish over the three weekend Masses in early June.
Thank to 4 Green and Ms Hart for a wonderful Assembly on Monday, sharing their latest UOI: Perspectives can enhance decision making and influence survival.
An inquiry into:
- The interconnectedness of living things within an ecosystem (connection)
- Sustainable resource management (responsibility)
- The ways in which perspective can influence action (Perspective)
We wre thoroughly entertained by the class interwinning their learnings through a quiz show. Well done 4G!

In the coming week we will be inviting Year 5 and 6 students, teachers and all parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.
We would like to invite parents to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and well being at Holy Trinity Primary School.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL code I will send you via Compass in the coming days. This is to ensure security, so that only Holy Trinity parents are accessing the survey to complete.
The Rostrum Primary Schools competition is a public speaking competition for all ACT and surrounding NSW schools. On Tuesday the students from Years 3-6 listened to seven students present a Rostrum speech on set topics ranging from Satellites to Libraries. All competitors engaged the audience through effective use of voice, gestures, and eye contact. A HUGE congratulations to all our finalists and a big thank you to Mrs B-W who coordinated our school participation in Rostrum this year. Congratulations to Maggie (6G) who will represent Holy Trinity at the Quarter Finals. Congratulations also to Sarah (6G) who is our runner up. The Quarter Finals will be held at Holy Trinity Primary School on the 21st of June at 6:30pm, and all are welcome to attend.
As we approach the colder weather, we are naturally seeing an increase in colds and flu. COVID is still very present in the ACT community also- please note we have many RAT tests available for families at our front office. I encourage families who would like some of these to please come and collect these from the front office, or notify us via email and we can send tests home in school bags.
We are looking forward to heading into Reconciliation Week and sharing with you next week, some learnings and activities that will be happening across the week. Have a wonderful long weekend and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.

Stay and Play
Stay and Play is a playgroup for pre-preschoolers and their carer each Wednesday in school term 9am-10am in the ELC Adventure Garden (weather permitting). All families and the broader community are welcome to attend.
Over the past few weeks, as we have welcomed prospective families into our Holy Trinity community, it has been wonderful to share our understanding of the PYP. It is always a delight to witness the curiosity and enthusiasm that radiates from each family as they discover the unique benefits of the PYP education we deliver here at Holy Trinity. Your involvement and support are invaluable as we navigate the rewarding journey of learning together.
As part of our continuous pursuit of providing the most effective and dynamic PYP curriculum, we are embarking on an exciting new endeavour: an intensive period of self-study. This opportunity allows us to review our practices, consider new perspectives, and enrich our educational offerings in ways that are responsive to the evolving needs of our diverse school community.
Much like our annual PYP Exhibition, which showcases our learners' ability to understand complex issues through research and critical thinking, this self-study allows us as educators to reflect, analyse, and make meaningful connections that will ultimately benefit our learners. We remain dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and global citizenship.
In our pursuit of continuous improvement, your insight and expertise are invaluable. We invite you to be a part of this process by attending an upcoming Information Session. The session will provide an overview of what it means for us to be a PYP School, including the process of self-study, the goals we aim to achieve, and the steps we will take to accomplish them. It will also be an open forum for you to voice any questions, thoughts, or suggestions you might have.
We believe that with your involvement, we can ensure that our self-study initiative will reflect the needs, values, and aspirations of our entire school community. After all, we strive not only to make the learning experience of our students at Holy Trinity enriching and meaningful but also to make the engagement of our families worthwhile and impactful.
To RSVP for the Information Session on Wednesday, 28th June (Week 10), from 6:00 to 7:00, please click here.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our Holy Trinity family. We are grateful for your commitment to our school and are excited about working together to enrich our PYP program further. We continue to be inspired by the IB's mission and by our collective goal to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who can contribute positively to our world.

Special Tuckshop Day – THANKYOU |
||||||
Huge thanks to Megan and Anna for all their wonderful work in organising a fabulous special tuckshop day on Tuesday 23rd May. Over 300 orders were placed and there were many happy children on the day. Thank you to all the ELC and kinder parents that helped out behind the scenes and on the day. I’m sure you won’t want to see a chicken nugget again or a hot chip for a while to come. |

Uniform shop |

Thank you to those parents submitting orders these past few weeks - it’s no doubt due to the unbelievably freezing temperatures. The Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday mornings in the odd weeks of school term from 8:30am to 9:00 am.

Yesterday, Wednesday, 24th May the Holy Trinity Community gathered in the hall and participated in the 2023 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).
This year the NSS was held at the Sydney Zoo. The author, Rebecca Young welcomed us all and then read aloud her book ‘The Speedy Sloth”. There was then a drawing session with the illustrator Heath McKenzie.
We finished up our NSS with some fabulous Sloth Races, watched a short Sloth information clip by David Attenborough and concluded with a viewing of a livestreamed Sloth Nursey in South America.
Thank you to all those who brought in a Sloth for the display, they looked great and made us all smile. Lots of kids also brought in cute toy animals to hold during the event.
This year there were 2,300,347 registered participants, from over 59,088 locations. Every year the event numbers increase by 1000’s.
At the conclusion of the event classes went back to their rooms and completed a range of activities based on the book. Big fun. Please click on this link Book Creator Resource to connect to a fabulous resource that has a wide range fun activities related to ‘The Speedy Sloth’.
Happy Days,
Kate M x
