Dear Friends,
Last weekend our Church celebrated Trinity Sunday, which of course, is our School community Feast Day. Trinity Sunday focuses on God as community; God is the one who loves us unconditionally (Father), the Beloved (Jesus the Son), and the love which flows between them (The Holy Spirit). During Masses on Trinity Sunday, our Confirmation candidates were presented to our Parish community and tonight they will come together at school to create their stole to wear during the Sacrament of Confirmation in Week 9.
Our Year 4 students also spent time last week celebrating our feast day with our sister school, Trinity, atMurrumburrahh. This was the first time sinceCOVIDD restrictions that our two schools have been able to come together! It was wonderful to be able to continue this special relationship and our students instantly were welcomed and engaged with the community. We were greeted with a sausage sizzle and treats, then we had a treasure hunt, using skills of logic and critical thinking, followed by dancing and cake! We finished with a photo together in front of the School Sign we donated a couple of years ago.

School Parent Survey
We would like to again invite parents to complete the Tell Them From Me TTFMM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and well being at Holy Trinity Primary School.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by cutting and pasting the URL code I have set you via Compass. This is to ensure security, so that only Holy Trinity parents are accessing the survey to complete. The survey will close on Friday 16th of June.
Tennis Report
In a thrilling display of talent and determination, Holy Trinity Primary School demonstrated their exceptional skills on the tennis court during the highly anticipated Tennis Gala Day held at Weston Creek yesterday. Our school had four teams and 21 students take part on the day. The event, which brought together several schools from South Canberra, proved to be a fierce competition filled with excitement and outstanding performances. Holy Trinity Primary School’s number 1 team emerged as the deserving runner-up. The teamwork, sportsmanship, and talent displayed by the students have undoubtedly made us all proud. A huge thank you to Mr Roweth who coordinated this event and has spent many lunch times at school promoting tennis with our students.

The document above is the most recent Catholic Voice edition, with much focus on the Calvary Hospital take over. The last sentence in Fr Tony Percy's article, "One Step Back, One Step Forward", very much resonated with me as follows;
" ...most of life depends on the company we keep."
I feel very privileged to be in the company of our Holy Trinity community.
We look forward tomorrow to sharing our Feast Day with our community and also celebrating learning achievements and areas for growth in our parent teacher interviews/student conferences next week.
Have a wonderful long weekend and a peace-filled week ahead with your beautiful families.

Preschool Learning Journeys
The ELC will be hosting Learning Journeys on 19-23 June (Week 9). This is an opportunity for families to view the classroom learning environment, child's learning portfolio, reflect together on the learning and create goals for Semester Two. There is no need to schedule your learning journey visit, but if you would like time to speak with your child's teacher, please contact them directly for a meeting.
July School Holiday Program
The ELC is now taking bookings for the July School Holiday Program which runs from 3-17 July (Monday 17 July is a system wide pupil free day). The holiday program provides a relaxing, fun and engaging space for Preschool and Kindergarten children. Please click here to book your child in for some or all available days.
Child Care Subsidy
Most families in the ELC will get more CCS. Some families previously not eligible for CCS will now get it.
What's changing?
From 10 July:
-
The family income limit to get CCS is increasing to $530,000.
-
The maximum amount of CCS is increasing from 85% to 90%.
-
Families earning $80,000 or less will get 90% subsidy.
-
Families earning over $80,000 and under $530,000 will get a subsidy that tapers down from 90%, depending on their income. The subsidy will go down 1% for each $5,000 earned.
-
Families earning below $362,408 with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can still get a higher rate for their second and younger children.
-
Families can get at least 36 hours of subsidised care per fortnight for each Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child in their care, regardless of their activity level.
What do families need to do?
Families already getting CCS don’t need to do anything to get the new rates. Services Australia will apply the changes for you from 10 July.
Families that earn between $356,756 and $530,000 may be entitled to CCS from 10 July. Families that haven’t claimed CCS, should lodge a claim with Services Australia.
If you already get CCS, you don’t need to do anything. If you think you may become eligible, lodge a CCS claim with Services Australia.
Stay and Play
Stay and Play is a playgroup for pre-preschoolers and their carer each Wednesday in school term 9am-10am in the ELC Adventure Garden (weather permitting). All families and the broader community are welcome to attend.
