"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were all sitting.
Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability".
(Acts 2 verses 1-4)
As the friends of Jesus gathered in one place, we gather here, waiting for the Spirit to fill this house and enlighten, as with tongues of fire, the minds and hearts and lives of our young people; and to renew this flame in all of us as well.
Dear Friends,
We have begun this week celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with many of our Year 6 students from our schools and Parish community. Both nights were incredibly reverent and prayerful evenings; a huge thank you to Emily Capper for all her organisation and preparation, our Year 6 teachers and to the many staff members who attended the Masses. During the homily on Tuesday night, Archbishop Christopher spoke about three elements a Christian human being needs to have to live fully - we need to think, love and walk with others, just as Jesus walked with those on the edge or on the outer of society. This is one of the reasons why Christian outreach programs, such as supporting Global School Partners, is a significant part of Holy Tinity's yearly focus. We prayer that our Confirmation candidates and all students, are whole human beings who think deeply, love deeply and show by action, the importance of helping others.

On Monday, we also enjoyed seeing all the wonderful learnings that have been happening in Mr Davis' 3 White class. They have been exploring the central idea ‘Movement has Consequences’ through the lines of:
- The Sense of Place and Belonging,
- The Settlement of Country and Place, and
- How Opinions Impact Judgements about a Place.
During the assembly 3W demonstrated learning experiences they undertook during the unit. These included some of our cultural celebrations students in 3W celebrated or researched. They also looked at how technology has changed over time, shared their mini rostrums on their favourite places and some artwork looking at landscapes.
This week we also hosted the quarter finals of Rostrum Speaking competition, with eight other schools in our region attending. A HUGE thank you to Miss B-W and five Year 6 students who helped host, time keep and MC the event- thank you Maria, Blake, Sarah, Mary and Chloe. Congratulations to Maggie who represented our school and spoke so well, as our Rostrum Finalist. Maggie displayed skill, resilience and determination, well done Maggie!
As many of you know, helping support the well-being of all in our community is an ongoing priority. Next term we will be again offering the Cool Kids Program for Years 3 and 4, and Seasons for Growth for children in Year 1-6. More information will be sent out soon about these initiatives. Book Week Celebrations 2023
Term 3 is a big term in Library Land as we begin our celebrations for our favourite event of the year – BOOK WEEK…
Book Week is celebrated across Australia in Week 6 of Term 3. One of the highlights of the week is the ‘Book Week Parade’ which will be held at Holy Trinity on Wednesday 23rd August. Weather permitting, we will be parading around the black top, where we line up at 9.00am.
Lots of families and staff like to use these school holidays to start planning Book Week outfits.
Please click on the following links to view the nominated books for 2023 and to view the fabulous visiting authors we have booked to come to HT in week 7.
SORA – Reading App:
The Overdrive eBook company has developed a child-friendly eBook reading APP named SORA. SORA has over 30 000 age-appropriate books and approx. 3000 plus age-appropriate audio books available to download and read.
SORA is designed for children and has easy-to-use vertical screen options, attractive on-screen promotions, easily accessible statistics on reading completed, and rewards for reading.
SORA has been operational and widely used at Holy Trinity since 2019. SORA is easy for you and your children to access and is set up in age group stages - your children can only borrow books that are within certain age groups. SORA is a resource that is funded by Catholic Education.
You can login to Sora with your child’s normal CENet login – used at school to login to our CE network.
Please note that on SORA some books are available to borrow all the time, some books may require a waiting time as limited numbers have been purchased and most books have a timeframe in which they are on loan to a borrower. HT borrowing statistics are also sent to me regularly.
Happy Reading!
