Book Week Celebrations 2024:
This week we began our celebrations for our favourite event of the year – BOOK WEEK…
Book Week will be celebrated across Australia in Week 5 of Term 3. One of the highlights of the week is the ‘Book Week Parade’ which will be held at Holy Trinity on Wednesday 21st August. Weather permitting at 9.10am we will be parading around the black top, where we line up.
Lots of families and staff tend to use these school holidays to start planning Book Week outfits. The theme for 2024 is ‘Reading is Magic’.
Please click on the following links to view the nominated books for 2024 and to view the fabulous visiting authors we have booked to come to HT in Term 3.

SORA – Reading App: Holiday Reading Fun…
The Overdrive eBook company has developed a child-friendly eBook reading APP named SORA. SORA has over 30 000 age-appropriate books and approx. 3000 plus age-appropriate audio books available to download and read.
SORA is designed for children and has easy-to-use vertical screen options, attractive on-screen promotions, easily accessible statistics on reading completed, and rewards for reading.
SORA has been operational and widely used at Holy Trinity since 2019. SORA is easy for you and your children to access and is set up in age group stages - your children can only borrow books that are within certain age groups. SORA is a resource that is funded by Catholic Education.
You can login to Sora with your child’s normal CENet login – used at school to login to our CE network.
Please note that on SORA some books are available to borrow all the time, some books may require a waiting time as limited numbers have been purchased and most books have a timeframe in which they are on loan to a borrower. HT borrowing statistics are also sent to me regularly.
Below is an easy 'How to Guide' to download SORA – (perfect for those with limited IT skills).
