Dear families and carers,
With Spring in the air, we have enjoyed a wonderful week at school making the most of the warmer days and sunshine. A timely reminder that all students need to bring a hat for break times and PE. Students without a hat will be asked to move to a shaded play area. Please also check that your child’s hat is clearly labelled with their name so it can be returned if misplaced.
Tomorrow we look forward to celebrating all the fathers, grandfathers, and special friends in our lives. We invite you to join us for our Prayer Celebration at 2pm in the church, followed by afternoon tea in the Kitchen Garden.
The Great Book Swap
Special thanks to Mr Montesin, our ELC, and Year 6 students who organised and facilitated the Great Book Swap yesterday. It was wonderful to see our whole school community walking through the ELC to find a new read! Thank you also to the many families who donated books and funds, raising money to support Indigenous students’ access to books.
Tournament of Minds
Last weekend, four teams proudly represented Holy Trinity in the Tournament of Minds. This program challenges teams of seven students to solve problems collaboratively, building skills in creativity, time management, and teamwork. Our students were confident, prepared, and should be very proud of their achievements.
A huge thank you to Mrs Scougall, Mrs Hudson, Mrs Devlin, and Miss Tonkin for their organisation, guidance, and dedication in preparing our teams. We are delighted that two of our teams have progressed to the ACT finals and wish them every success at the next stage.

Learning Journeys
Next week we open our classrooms for Learning Journeys, a celebration of learning where students guide parents and carers through their classroom experiences. This is a chance for learners to share their growth, showcase their achievements, and spark meaningful conversations about their learning.
Learning Journey times:
-
Monday, September 8: 8.30–9.00am & 3.15–4.00pm
-
Wednesday, September 10: 8.30–9.00am & 3.15–4.00pm
We warmly invite you to take part in this special opportunity to engage with your child’s learning.
Leaving Holy Trinity in 2026?
Congratulations to the Giuffre Family (Sam 2G and Henry KG) who welcomed beautiful Mia Lucy Giuffre this past week. How lucky is she to have 4 big brothers to love her!

Please keep Catherine Joy and her family in your prayers as their Great Aunty Marge passed away this week at 103 years old.
Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives, remember to spoil the Dads and special men in our lives.

The Great Book Swap
This week our ELC proudly hosted the Great Book Swap in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). Children from ELC through to Year 6 were invited into the ELC to select a “new” book to take home and enjoy. We were also delighted to welcome our neighbours from Pinocchio ELC, who joined us for the event. It was a joy to see children browsing, swapping and discovering stories together.
The Great Book Swap is a meaningful initiative, raising both awareness and funds for the ILF. The Foundation works to support Indigenous authors and illustrators, and to improve access to books and learning opportunities for First Nations children and families in remote communities. By taking part, our children contributed to a cause that celebrates the power of stories while helping ensure all children can experience the joy of reading.
If children forgot to bring a coin on the day, or if families would like to make a further contribution to this worthy cause, please click the link below to donate directly to the ILF.
We thank our families, staff and community for their generous support of this event. Together we shared the gift of books, built connections and contributed to a brighter educational future for First Nations children.

Calling all lids!
Our collection of milk (and other bottle) lids, as well as yoghurt pouch lids, is all but gone. We are calling on our Holy Trinity community to collect lids and drop them into the ELC. These are a valuable resource that we use for creating and learning with!

Catholic Inquiry Program – An Invitation…
Sometimes people wonder about what Catholics believe and how they live their faith. Sometimes they feel shy about asking these questions. At Holy Trinity Church we are starting an inquiry group for people who are not Catholic but who are searching for answers. This inquiry group will start on Tuesday 19th August 7:30pm in the Parish Centre and will go for 4 weeks. This opportunity may be for you, or someone you know, and may pave the way to the Rite of Christian Initiation Adults (RCIA) program. For further information, please contact Peter at the Parish Office 0459 394 813.
